Contact messages

When you use the contact form, you provide your name, email address, optional subject and message. The form sends these details to the site's contact mailbox so we can read and respond to your inquiry. It uses a session token and basic spam checks. Please avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your message.

Comments and likes

When you submit a story comment, the website stores the name and comment you enter, the time of submission, the related story and your IP address. Comments are held for moderation. If approved, your name and comment become visible to other readers. The comment form does not ask for your email address.

When you use a story's Like control, the website uses your IP address to record and manage that Like. IP addresses used for comments and Likes help limit repeated submissions and misuse.

Reading statistics and browser storage

Story pages count visits to help us understand reader interest. The site creates a random visitor identifier in your browser's local storage and sends it with the story ID to our server. The server stores a hash of the identifier with reading records; the reading counter does not store your raw IP address in its analytics table. Story pages also store your preferred text size in local storage.

The site uses a session cookie for functions such as form protection and administrator access. Your browser settings can clear or block cookies and local storage, although some interactive functions may then work differently.

External services

Some pages load Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive information such as your IP address and may use technologies described in its own policy. You can read Google's Privacy Policy for information about Google services.

Advertising

If advertising is enabled on Nikki Kahani, Google and other advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons or IP addresses, and process other identifiers to serve and measure ads.
