Pet Dog! (A Short Story)
“Woof! Woof! Woof!”
Tommy, tied with a chain, started barking at the guest Pradeep.
Manoj:
“Please don’t mind! He loves us (his owners) very much, that’s why he barks at every visitor. Once he understands that you are a friend, he will calm down!”
Pradeep:
“It’s alright! I am used to hearing such dogs bark. Every day I come across many on social media who keep breaking their chains to bark in defense of their respective owners!”
Manoj (folding his hands):
“Brother, you got offended!”
Pradeep (laughing):
“Oh no! I am actually speaking the truth! If these dogs won’t bark for the one who throws them a bone, then for whom else will they bark?”
“You really are something amazing!”
