Bloody Fool! (A Short Story)
“You bloody fool!”
(The moment Prashant angrily said this to his wife, he immediately realized his mistake.)
“What did you say? Say it again!”
(Sarita asked, glaring at him.)
Prashant (carefully recovering):
“I said that in anger you look like a ‘red flower’! Bloody means the color of blood — red… and flower, well, you already know what that means.”
“Oh my! Even in anger, you love me so much. You too are a bloody flower for me!”
(She says shyly and walks into the kitchen.)
“Saved myself there, son! Marrying a Hindi-medium girl finally paid off. From now on, I’ll think before speaking! I love you, Sarita!!”
(Embarrassed, he follows her into the kitchen.)
